For those who would like the option of exploring further afield the Pembrey Country Park, Kidwelly castle, Dan-yr-Ogof Caves and the welsh national Museums are a few of the attractions within just one hours journey by car.
Located in the hamlet of Burry Green, surrounded by the unspoiled Gower countryside, Burry Longhouse is sited within the grounds of Burry court and overlooks 3 acres of peaceful landscaped gardens, with lawns, rockeries and orchard. All of which proves to be a source of pleasure for our guests at all seasons of the year.
Burry Cottage is a traditionally decorated and comfortably furnished spacious property with a wooden floor to the lounge and carpet in the bedroom. The cottage has electric space heaters and a feature fireplace with wood burning stove (starter box provided). The cottage is on a single level with easy level access from the adjacent off street secure parking area. The main entrance is via a spacious porch where boots and clothes can be stored and there is a paved patio area to the side of the porch also providing access to the gardens.
The spacious (4m x 6.5m) high beamed living room has an exposed stone feature fireplace with a wood burning stove (starter box provided). The furniture and fittings, chosen to make our guests feel at home, include in the lounge area, a colour television and DVD player, a bookcase with a selection of books on Gower, novels and games, three piece lounge suite, etc. In the dining area there is a dining table and chairs, and a dresser containing a full selection of china, glass and cutlery.
The double bedroom is well proportioned (4m x 3.6m) and furnished in keeping with the period style of the property. Bedroom 1 has a full bedroom suite with double bed. The room can accommodate an additional folding bed or a full size cot, which are available on request.
The open plan kitchen (2.4m x 2.4m) is located at one end of the lounge/ diner and incorporates a gas cooker, microwave oven, refrigerator and freezer . A full set of crockery, cooking utensils and cleaning products are provided.
The spacious bathroom (3.4m x 1.6m) is fitted with a walk in shower, wash basin and toilet.
The main entrance is via a spacious porch where outdoor coats, boots, bags etc. can be stored. Double doors open on to a patio area with occasional table and chairs and steps leading into the gardens.
Visitors are welcome to make use of the large gardens for their leisure and relaxation. Tables and chairs are provided on the lawn area and numerous seats are located at the quiet areas of the garden.
Visitors with pets may exercise them freely in the orchard and paddock but we request that they keep the lawn areas clean.
