For those who would like the option of exploring further afield the Pembrey Country Park, Kidwelly castle, Dan-yr-Ogof Caves and the welsh national Museums are a few of the attractions within just one hours journey by car.
Located in the hamlet of Burry Green, surrounded by the unspoiled Gower countryside, Burry Longhouse is sited within the grounds of Burry Court and overlooks 3 acres of peaceful landscaped gardens, with lawns, rockeries and orchard. All of which proves to be a source of pleasure for our guests at all seasons of the year.
The traditionally decorated spacious property is comfortably furnished with full oil fired central heating and carpeted throughout. Located on one floor, there are three entrances , the main one to the kitchen via an outside staircase, the second to the living room with three steps and the third to the main bedroom with five interior steps.
The spacious (4m x 7.5m) high beamed living room has an exposed stone open fireplace which burns logs and coal (starter box provided). The living room is conveniently divided by a small change in level with the lounge area at occupying one half and the dining area the other half. The furniture and fittings, chosen to make our guests feel at home, include in the lounge area, a colour television and DVD player, a bookcase with a selection of books on Gower, novels and games, three piece lounge suite, etc. In the dining area a dining table and six chairs; plus a traditional dresser containing a full selection of china, glass and cutlery.
The double bedroom is well proportioned (4m x 3.6m) and furnished in keeping with the period style of the property. Bedroom 1 has a full bedroom suite with double bed. The room can accommodate an additional folding bed or a full size cot, which are available on request. There is a door leading directly to the gardens.
Bedroom 2 is similarly well proportioned (4m x 3.6m) and again furnished in keeping with the period style of the property. Bedroom 2 has full sized twin beds and can also accommodate either a folding bed or a full size cot, which are available on request.
This is located at the main entrance at one end of the length of the Longhouse. It is fully fitted with quality kitchen units plus a free standing kitchen table and chairs. There is a gas cooker, microwave oven, refrigerator and freezer. A full set of crockery, cooking utensils and cleaning products are provided.
The bathroom located at one end of the Longhouse is fitted with a walk in shower, wash basin and toilet.
Visitors are welcome to make use of the large gardens for their leisure and relaxation. Tables and chairs are provided on the lawn area and numerous seats are located at the quiet areas of the garden.
Visitors with pets may exercise them freely in the orchard and paddock but we request that they keep the lawn areas clean.
